I have recently joined NESC as a Graduate Environmental Waste Specialist after graduating from the University of Plymouth with a master’s degree in Environmental Geochemistry. My undergraduate degree was in Chemistry where I then worked in a regulatory cosmetic testing laboratory for three years before going back to study my master’s degree. I possess a strong foundation in understanding the chemical properties of various waste materials and their environmental impact and would like to apply this knowledge to the nuclear industry.

The training NESC has provided, my prior chemistry knowledge and compliance experience will hopefully equip me when working on projects around nuclear regulation and safety along with reducing environmental impact. The personal and professional development opportunities at NESC combined with access to senior members of staff with varying backgrounds makes it a beneficial company to work for.
