James Orrin

Having completed an undergraduate degree in civil engineering and not knowing where to go next, James stumbled into the fire resistant product manufacturing industry and never looked back. After six years in industry working in sales and technical roles, he decided to enhance his learning in fire science and safety management by doing a postgraduate in fire safety engineering. Doing so was the best decision he ever made, and allowed him to pursue this role within the nuclear safety sector which not many people in his specialism get the chance to do.

Although James' interests within the field of fire engineering are fire dynamics and modelling, this role has challenged him to learn new techniques for assessing fire scenarios as well as developing new knowledge in explosion science. His passion for this specialist field maintains his enthusiasm in learning new analytical methods and innovations to stay current and become a respected figure within this discipline.
