February 2025

After a last-minute change in plans due to high winds we ventured out from Princetown after breakfast towards Down Tor before dropping into Norsworthy Plantation.
We crossed the Meavy River on a handily placed fallen tree where some questionable techniques were fully displayed.
There were some route selection questions such as “isn’t there a bridge near here?” It’s all in the planning and there was no bridge 100 metres downstream – honest!
After a short break at Leather Tor Bridge, some of the more adventurous took on the Leather Tor scramble, made all the more fun with 50mph gusts, before we headed back to Princetown via Black Tor Falls. The eventual pint made worthwhile with the wind hitting us head on for the last 2Km.
