What is your role at NESC?
Chris joined NESC in 2015 as a Technical Director responsible for nuclear safety and security. From 2019 to 2022 he was in post as a Babcock Safety Case Manager, with responsibility for developing the first safety case for Astute Class submarine maintenance in Devonport Dockyard (5 Basin). His primary task now, and in the future, is to develop NESC’s burgeoning nuclear safety team and to maintain our high level of cyber security.

What is your career history?
Prior to joining NESC, Chris worked in defence research and defence procurement before working as a series leader on explosives trials at the Atomic Weapons Establishment. He then joined Atkins and worked on a wide variety of explosive and nuclear safety related projects.
